Is Japanese easy to learn?

Is Japanese easy to learn?

This is my personal observation and I would say…

No, I don’t think Japanese is an easy language.

Any language has its own uniqueness and difficuities.

As to reading, you have to memorize so many letters and so many Kanji.

Hiragana and Katakana each have 46 characters.

Plus, Kanji is almost infinite but the kanji knowledge of adults whose native language is Japanese is approximately 3,500 to 4000 characters.

In short, Japanese reading requires 3500 to 4000 Kanji.

Therfore Kanji is the biggest obstacle for learners.

When you read Japanese writting like a novel, newspaper, you can’t understand anything without Kanji.

In terms of Speaking, there’s no troubles if you don’t know any kanji.

I think reading is most difficuit part out of the rest, speaking, writting, and listening in Japanese learning.

So, what is the easiest part of Japanese?

I don’t know.

These four activities are closely connected with each other.

You can’t speak until you immerse yourself in massive input like listening.

Japanese is a messy language.

Especially in speaking, they often lack the subject in their speach so sometimes you struggle to find out whose story it is.

Therefore, you don’t have to speak perfectly, unnecessary to say complete sentences.

It’s easier to communicate by just saying a few words that you know than by speaking complete sentences.

To be honest, there’s no rules regarding word order.

Therefore, when speaking Japanese, it is better not to worry too much about grammer rules and details.

If you live in a rural area, there are few people who speak standard Japanese.

There are so many slang in Japanese as well.

Evev as Japanese person, I think the origins of these slang words are ridiculous.

I often think like they should shut their mouth when they get a kind of intense.

So,you shouldn’t think too logically about Japanese.

That’s my first advice for Japanese learners.

I would say my own language is very beautiful, but at the same time it is very ridiculous and utterly nonsense.

Japanese language is easily succumb to the words of sloppy, redundant, and incoherent.

It’s better to start listening first and immerse yourself in the Japanese words and then try speaking.

What do you think?
